Monster Island, The Asylum's 2019 mockbuster that was released around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is about an island called Monster Island where a monster may be discovered, who is sort of the island, the Monster Island, if you will.


As an asylum film, it is able to afford a large budget and uses it well. It focuses on a few people and keeps (first published) its big stars in one place where they can all be recorded during lunch breaks. However, keep in mind that this is the kaiju genre, and well... that's how they go, so maybe The Asylum won't do such an awful job with it?
